No problem to install a tacho on the Savage.
Use any suted for HD with a ratio of 1:1.
The fact is that the Savage sparks every engine turn. Use a electric tacho for HD equipped with one ignition coil. If you send me a e-mail I will post you a picture of my Savage with a tacho on it.
